Questions about the Annual Meeting

Members of NYSCHA have found it helpful to communicate with each other about topics of mutual interest, to ask questions about specific practices, and to share information. The following methods have been set up to facilitate this communication:
NYSCHA E-Mail List (also known as Mary's e-mail)
You can send a message to Mary Madsen at mmadsen@uhs.rochester.edu. Mary will send you message out to the NYSCHA members who are on her e-mail list. Whenever a new member joins NYSCHA, the new member's name is added to this list. This method has been helpful to members who want a quick and easy way to ask all the other members about a particular topic.
NYSCHA Listserve (created in November 2001)
The listserve is another way to communicate with other members of NYSCHA. To begin receiving and sending mail through the listserve, you need to join. All you need to do is send a blank email to the following address: join-nyscha@list.brockport.edu
Be sure to leave the subject line blank. You will be active almost immediately. To send messages to the listserve once you are a member, send an e-mail to nyscha@list.brockport.edu
You may want to put this address in your personal address book for easy access. When sending a message to the listserve, be sure to include your e-mail address for direct responses.
You will know you have received a message from the listserve when you see nyscha@list as the sender. Generally, it is preferable to respond to the individual who wrote the message, rather than the entire listserve. If you hit "reply" to a message from the listserve, you will send your message to everyone on the listserve. Quite often people who query the listserve will provide a summary of responses in a message back to the listserve.
