NYSCHA Professional Awards
Nominations are due by June 9, 2017.
The NYSCHA Professional Awards honor the memory of three outstanding professionals in college health. The awards recognize the honorees’ leadership and commitment to college health on the local, state, and national level. The Call for Nominations takes place in the summer/early fall with awardees announced at the fall Annual Meeting. For more information about the 2016 awardees, please click here.
The three NYSCHA Professional Awards are: Susan Shearer Award, Vincent J. Lamparella Award, and the Clifford B. Reifler Award. For a description for these three awards, click here.
To nominate a colleague for a NYSCHA Professional Award, choose the award that best exemplifies your colleague’s contributions to college health. Send your nomination in an e-mail message to Paula Snyder, NYSCHA Awards and Nominations Chair at PaulaSnyder@mail.sunyjcc.edu. Asking a colleague to support the nomination is recommended, but not required. Your colleague can submit their supporting nomination by sending an e-mail message to Paula Snyder.

NYSCHA Student Awards
Nominations are due by April 18, 2017.
Each year college health staff members have the opportunity to nominate individual students and student groups for a NYSCHA Student Award. The NYSCHA Student Awards recognize students and student groups that have contributed to the health of students on their campus and/or to the work of the New York State College Health Association or the American College Health Association.
Nominations for the NYSCHA 2017 Student Awards are due by Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Please click here to review the NYSCHA Awards timeline. Instructions are included in the submission forms below. Awardees will be recognized at the NECHA/NYSCHA 2017 Combined Annual Meeting in November. ACHA Awards & Fellows
ACHA Affiliate New Professionals Award
Nominations are due by December 15.
This award recognizes individuals who are new to the field of college health, have made significant contributions to their institutions and/or affiliate, and demonstrate the potential for significant and sustained leadership important to the mission of ACHA. Candidates must be an individual member of ACHA of any discipline and must have worked in college health for five years or less.
All NYSCHA members are encouraged to consider nominating a colleague for this award. Send your nomination in an e-mail message to Paula Snyder, Chair, NYSCHA Awards and Nominations Committee, at PaulaSnyder@mail.sunyjcc.edu by December 15.
The NYSCHA Executive Board will select the award recipient for NYSCHA and will send their recommendation to ACHA. Recipients are notified in March. The awardee receives the award at the ACHA Annual Meeting.
Other ACHA Awards and Fellows

The American College Health Association (ACHA) encourages members to recognize college health professionals and students who have made exceptional contributions to ACHA, the field of college health, or their own health center and campus. ACHA awards include the ACHA Lifetime Achievement Award, Best Practices in College Health Award, Outstanding Research Publication Award, and eight awards named for individuals who made significant contributions to the field of college health.
The ACHA Fellows organization recognizes members who have given outstanding service to ACHA and have demonstrated superior professional stature and performance in the college health field.
Nominations for ACHA Awards and ACHA Fellows are submitted directly to ACHA. Check the ACHA website for the criteria and process for submitting nominations. Letters of nomination must specify the award for which the candidate is being nominated.
