WELCOME

The New York State College Health Association (NYSCHA) holds an annual meeting in October every year. The annual meeting helps attendees stay abreast of current topics in college health and offers an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues in college health. Programs and speakers are chosen to meet the interests and needs of the many disciplines represented in college health. The NYSCHA Annual Meeting is designed for anyone with an interest in college health – physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, health educators, social workers, mental health professionals, administrators, clinical support staff, and students.

CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE) CREDITS

We anticipate offering continuing education credits for physicians (CME), nurses (CH), and health educators (CECH). We also expect to offer CASAC credits. The final program materials you receive at the Annual Meeting will provide specific information about continuing education credits for each program.

Payment for CE Credits: If you are applying for continuing education credits, you must pay an additional fee when you submit your registration form. The amount of this fee is dependent upon your individual membership status with ACHA for the calendar year 2008. If you are currently an individual member of ACHA, the fee for CE credits is $25. If you are not currently an individual member of ACHA, your fee for CE credits is $50. Payment of your CE fee is due with your registration form. WE ARE LOOKING FOR PRESIDERS

We are looking for volunteers to be presiders at our sessions. Presiders introduce the speaker, serve as the timekeeper, and collect evaluation forms at the end of the program. If you volunteer, we will match you with a program you plan to attend. Being a presider is an easy way to get involved and make a contribution to the NYSCHA Annual Meeting.

ANNUAL BASKET RAFFLE

The popular basket raffle is back! We would like baskets from each one of the seven NYSCHA districts. In the past, we have also had baskets from some of the NYSCHA sections, too. The idea is to create a basket featuring items unique to your district or section. The baskets will be displayed and raffled at the Annual Banquet on Thursday evening.

If you would like to make a basket for your district or section, contact Rebecca Harrington at harrinrl@oneonta.edu. Please include your name, school, and affiliation (i.e., your college, your district, or your discipline).
